I had the same problem when my husband had a toothache. I was the first one he told. I worked on finding him a dentist that accepts his insurance. I even made an appointment with one (you know men can't do it themselves LOL).

My mother-in-law found out that the dentist I made the appointment wanted to do a root canal with my husband. My MIL demanded that my husband go see HER dentist and he'll pull the tooth.

My husband's new dentist said that it was not a good idea to pull his tooth because his other teeth could migrate (or something like that). He said that the best option was a root canal.

I told my MIL what the new dentist suggested and she told me that SHE knew best and demanded that my hubby see her dentist. I told her that I trust a dentist that went to medical school way more than I trusted her. She has no clue about dentistry. Hell, my father-in-law does not brush his teeth and his teeth are green!! There is no way in hell that I am going to listen to HER!

My husband put his foot down and told my MIL that he will go to the new dentist. He had a root canal and no further problems.
